Exterior Insulation and Finish Systems (EIFS)
EIFs is an excellent cladding system for commercial and residential construction, offering a highly energy efficient, lightweight engineered cladding system with infinite design possibilities. EIFS is typically seen as more modern stucco which is a portland-cement plaster applied in three coats to a building exterior. Stucco is more expensive than some types of veneer, e.g. wood or cement siding, but the surface is durable, permeable to water vapor, fire resistant, insect resistant and suitable for any climate. As long as the surface has been properly prepared, openings correctly flashed, EIFs should require little maintenance. As a veneer, it has good insulation and requires low maintenance and saves energy over time.
