Non-Invasive Indigenous and/or Adaptive Landscaping

Adaptive Landscaping Non-invasive indigenous and/or adaptive landscaping are plants which are either present in the environment prior to western settlement (US) or species that are adaptive to the environment without special care or non-natural watering and do not grow excessively or disproportionately to other plants species in the same area. Landscaping with such plants results in less dependence on fertilizers, insecticides, fungicides, etc. that are harmful to the environment and conserves water in that irrigation is unnecessary. Lack of invasiveness allows for greater diversity in other naturally occurring plant life and for the organisms that depend upon it.

Pervious Concrete & Permeable Pavers

Pervious concrete and permeable pavers are cementious products designed to create hard surfaces that allow storm water to drain through or immediately around their surfaces. During periods of heavy rainfall, this attribute reduces the impact of sudden water discharges which decrease erosion on existing natural drainage channels and the probability of overflows in sanitary sewer effluent reaching natural waterways through combined storm and sanitary sewer systems.
